'Aamir Ibn Al-Jarraah (May Allah be pleased with him)

Abu 'Ubaidah 'Aamir ibn Al-Jarraah was also one of the ten companions who were given the glad tidings of Paradise during their lifetimes. He fought alongside the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him in the Battle of Badr, the Battle of Uhud and all of the other battles as well. He was one of the first people to embrace Islam and he immigrated to Ethiopia (in order to escape the oppression of the pagan Arabs in Mecca) and he later immigrated to Medina. Aamir ibn Al-Jarraah was also called Al-Qawiyy Al-Ameen (the strong, the trustworthy).

'Aamir lost his front teeth while pulling pieces of armor from a helmet that became embedded in the Messenger of Allah's peace be upon him face during the Battle of Uhud. However, the loss of his front teeth only made him better looking!

THE VIRTUES OF 'AAMIR IBN AL-JARRAAH (May Allah be pleased with him)

In a hadith narrated upon the authority of Anas ibn Maalik (May Allah be pleased with him) who said that the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said:

"Every nation has an extremely trustworthy man, and the trustworthy man of this (Muslim) nation is Abu 'Ubaidah ibn Al-Jarraah."

In another hadith narrated upon the authority of Hudhaifah ibn Al-Yamaan (May Allah be pleased with him) who said:

"The people of Najran came to the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah send to us a trustworthy man (to teach us the affairs of our religion). He (the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him) said: 'I will send you the most trustworthy man.' All of the people were looking forward (to be that person). He then sent Abu 'Ubaidah ibn Al-Jarraah".
